Justin,
Sorry, just saw your question this morning.
No the TC was not opened up. According to my DTT man (10 yrs expirience with DTT Converters), he does not need to unless he sees signs of excessive heat on the outside. Make sense?

goerend is the way to go... the triple disk is only 1,200 from him... also the things he upgrades is **** near the same stuff dtt replaces but he charges far less for his service and parts.......i have seen his trannys proove themselfs time over time in the past thats why i went his route and have yet to regret it.......2,100 dollars after installing triple disk TQ....his rebuilt kit.... his replacement parts .... and the tranny hasnt missed a beat yet.. shifts are as perfect as they will get.. and the lock up on the TQ is so tight is makes u feel the power going to the ground as you take off..... with his triple disk TQ i can spin 1st-3rd off a launch thats if i was really trying to loose traction... even with the new rear rim and tires i bought for the track for my truck proove its tight.. when u can break traction shifting into 2nd with nearly slicks but street legal slicks.. then u can proove a point.....

Excessive heat would not tell you anything about the roller sprag in the stator. Not very common to go bad, but a quick rinse is dirt cheap...

Based on the installer's findings upon visually inspecting the tranny, there was probably no evidence to convince him the TC needed refreshing. And since the stator has a lifetime warranty, no reason to replace it.
You would need to compare every piece from each manufacture to determine if one was way less than the other. I think you'll find that if you build one to the level the other comes standard at, you'll find the price very close to the same.

No swaying, just trying to keep it factual, and not make it turn personal. Information is good for all.
