dtt Valve body for 47re

I have a 2001 3500 dodge and was wondering if i installed the valve body from dtt, if my stock tranny would be able to handle an edge comp box.

I think it will. Check with Big Blue....I think....... Anyways I've seen him post elsewhere stating that with his stock tranny with a valvebody from DTT was handling up to 400 and something rear wheel HP. You can do a search to find his post...........

Yeah it would hold a comp, how many miles you got on it? A new converter would go nice with that too

Yup. I ran a comp with the wire tapped, then a comp and 275's, then comp/275/ksb-1 turbo, then comp/100hp injectors/KSB-1. All of those with no issue. I made 438/996 with the last combo and the tranny never winced. I definately don't recommend going that high if you do any sort of towing at all. But a DTT valvebody will hold a comp with ease.

So you think an 03 with the 47re with a tc/vb/input would hold 425-450 alright then????

Quite possibly yes it would. It's hard to tell what each tranny will hold with what mods because so much depends on driving styles, shape of the current tranny, maintenance schedules, what you use the truck for, etc. Driving like a sane person and only using the power when you need it, yes, a stock tranny with a converter and valvebody will hold 425-450. Hot rodding around with all of your stuff turned up constantly then no, it won't hold. Towing with everything turned up will kill it but if your turn the box's down you shouldn't have a problem.

I'm running a DTT VB and a comp with the wire tapped and it has never slipped, I am going to get my tranny built but not because i'm having trouble just just because the stock TC is so loose and I want more power.
