I have the billet input and stock intermediate and output shafts. I talked to a guy that drag races a CTD and he says anything over 16psi for a launch has snapped a shaft (cant remember which).
I know the stock intermediate and output is good to 600hp anyhow, since thats what I told my builder Im shooting for and he recommended I leave those two in. Im not going to be launching like that though.. yikes!

i have full dtt with billet input and stock inter and output ...

when i did mine i thought i'd leave the output stock to act like a shear pin ...

it's the easiest to replace ... got one for free from a local junkyard just in case ...

haven't broke anything at 50k miles and 500 hp ...

dozens of burnouts and one fried dana 70 later and the dtt has been flawless ...

Something happened in my stock intermediate:

The builder said something about me making a special 'two-piece' version of my intermediate shaft when I launched at 20psi on nitrous. I'm convinced the torque from the nitrous took it out.

Tim Barber stood behind the entire transmission - billet aluminum flexplate to billet output without complaining.

Yeah I like my single and plan on staying with it, i think triples are more for the strictly drag racers with loose converters that lock up real soon!

A whole lot of torque is involved and it does definitely not help. The heat of a slipping cluch can weld one part to another.

Oh, welded 1st gear= lotta heat by slipping plates not redneck fix to make it stay put. Few years back I welded the spider gears together on my Datsun Rally Truck for full time posi.
