Hmm.. well if this all falls under the quote with the exception of the part he needed, thats pretty amazing. Sounds like a LOT of extra time on this thing.
Ill keep you guys posted. Hopefully youre right and Im not charged for the extra labor on troubleshooting this thing. If he charges me exactly what was quoted Ill have to buy him some beer as a thank-you
Yeah the reason I went with the DTT was the reliability and the warranty (and the fact mass diesel is like 10mi from home). Theres enough examples here of the torque numbers they'll hold as well as longevity that Im pretty comfortable spending the $$$.
I also have the shop replacing the fuel lift pump since someone here had the same weird problem with ~30psi at idle and ~15psi under heavy load. He said he swapped out the pump and got 25psi at idle and 30+ under load like Id expect. Eventually Id like to get one of those 300hp IP's from BD power.. seems like the best bang for the buck.

thank you!!!

is it possible to replace only a TQ converter and the valve body, in a stock tranny, still good working...

for lets say to bomb it soon up to 450 HP? i have heard some one on here runs that.

why would i need input/output shafts?

I suggest you go to DTT's web site and go to their forums. There is a wealth of information there and good explanations of what they do to a trans and why. There is a LOT more to one of their trans than a VB and TC.

I agree with Mechanos!
At least, I would not do so with a DTT TC. They are just about bullet proof...but very tight and designed for their total system, with much higher pressures, etc.
Gunracer1 has had good luck holding everything together at just under 500 hp, with just a VB and a loose TC, but he is very knowlegble and is the exception to the rule, IMO.

You can start your read hear, as to why DTT's philosophy is... just says no to a VB & a TC only...

Looks like the bill was a little more than expected, but when I look at the extras I had the shop do, the stuff just adds up. I should have read the documentation instead of worrying about labor costs.
New trans feels awesome, this beast accelerates like a gasser now.
Thankee DTT and Mass Diesel =)
