ABS??

ABS......ABS.....We dont need no stinkin ABS

First things first ABS is way over rated as far as polymers go its on the way out better things are now be used

My day job = Polymer extrusion tech specialist Bayer Polymers

You have

Makrolon
Makroblend
Bayblend
Texin
Triax

Thats just the start now for the big dog DUREATHAN........Its reenforsed with fiberglass its also a nylon insted of a polycarbonate like BB,MB,ML.

Texin is like your dash and stearing wheel and triax is like your tail lights.

So now that ABS is out of the way the ideal application would be Dureathan but I'm not going to spend $50,000 for a molding machine and molds and mold release and the tools require for shaving How ever I can get the stock for free.

Stainless Steal Is cooler anyway Alum conducts heat S/S reflects (thats what Ive been Told Im no metal expert), now with steal I could paint it up real nice if I wanted. But S/S wasnt that much more. and its almost no care other than the casual polishing one in a while.

That looks great. I think your right on sticking to s/s rather than the options.

Great thread and directions!! I switched to a BHAF about a month ago and love it. I am still trying to figure out how I want to do a heat sheild, debating between Larry B's or constructing it from the template. Any suggestions? I would be very interested in purchasing a heat shield if they were available in the online store. Need to order my outerwears next. If geno's would just cary the BHAF, life would be good.

I got my heatsheild for a bag of M&M's. My brother-in-law is a sheet metal worker, I just had to send him the template! My Outerwears pre-filter (in red to match the truck) should be here by the end of the week.

Mine vibrated on the top of the shock. The right size hole in the plate fixed it.

Here ya go....

http://www.outerwearsracing.com

Or just give them a call 800-967-3450
You'll want P/N: WR3325-105 which is the water resistant one...hence the "WR". Take the "WR" away and it's just their regular pre-filter. It was about $26 + shipping. My filter has never been wet, even with downpours, or going through big puddles that were unavoidable.
