Question dry air filter

i have the k&n FIPK..... and it sucks... lets way too much dirt through even when it was new out of the box. (and yes i have cleaned and oiled it properly) anyone know of a good dry filter that i can put in place of this P.O.S.???? don't want to spend a whole bunch of money on a whole new setup just the filter.... thanks!

i got an AEM dryflow and i like it. spools up well and simple to clean. its reusable but idk the warranty. mite be lifetime or just a buttload of miles.

I switchted to the amsoil dry media filter in the stock box. It works great. Good price as well.

AEM and AFE both have washable dry (non-oiled) filters. Why throw filters away when you can wash and reuse them for years?

I just bought one of this style Amsoil filter to replace the AEM dry media...it's supposed to flow better and clean easier (also ordered an outerwears cover for it too)

I use a FIPK and it works good for me. I put on an outer wear. I was up in the Yukon and was on some very dusty roads not a trace of dust in my intake after 6500 klicks.

the amsoil one looks pretty nice.... might have to check that one out? anyone got a part number for one that will fit on the FIPK crap i have now??? i don't know if i got a bad one or what but there is definatly dirt on my turbo fins none on the inside of the intake tube though.... i just need to do something about it.... soon

On my 04.5 I have the amsoil ea filter. I just changed my oil yesterday and pulled the filter and tube out to access the filter. Saw all kinds of fine dust getting past the crappy stock airbox. Not the amsoils fault as far as I can tell, because the stock ones did that and also my airaid drop in did it. So I layed the grease on thick to the non sealing seal and am hoping for a little better result.

have the same problem with my stock box, i found the ice box air intake, its really custom looking and i got it with the afe pro gard 7. its a pritty cheep setup too, if anyones interested i can probibly get a pic up next week.

The Amsoil filters are made with DONALDSON media, which imo is the best available.

I'd also consider the AEM unit or the new Pro-DRY units from AFE.

DRY is what you want.

I'm using the Amsoil EaU 4510 as my BHAF. As noted above, it's a dry filter using Donaldsons' nano technology. It's reusable. All you do is blow it off with low pressure air(something like less than 15 psi). They claim it's good for 100000 miles. So far I really like it and would buy another if I had to do it again. I do plan on getting one of those prefilters that goes over it to help protect it from oils and moisture. The way I look at it, no reason to ruin a good filter and a nice way to protect my investment.
