Driving Lights

Driving Lights
I want to install auxiliary driving lights on the truck - dark country roads and deer plus dodge oem lights spells trouble. I'd like to trip the relay with the high beam switch once the on-off switch in the cab is turned on. I tested current at the headlights and all three leads are powered when the headlights are off. Anybody know how and where I should connect the relay trip so that once the switch is on in the cab the driving lights only come on with high beams?

As always, I know someone will help - thanks,

Pat

Re:Driving Lights
Turn your headlights on low test for power on which leads, the low beam lead and ground will stay lit, switch to high beam again 2 leads will be powered and the one that stays on for both is the ground. The one identified as high beam lead is the lead to which the trip/switch circuit from the relay is spliced into, the other 2 leads on the relay 1 wire goes to the source (switched power on the fuse box) 2nd wire goes to the lights. IF you wire this way road lights come on only when on high beam and no extra juice goes through the headlight circuit to over heat switch or headlight relay. I have this setup on my 2001 with Bosch Pilots and 100w bulbs mounted on top of bumper set 1/2 degree off center left to left and right to right. What you get with this is the road and both ditches lit up over a mile ahead of you. I like the Bosch kits because everything is there except the 100w bulbs, if you are having difficulty with wiring (diagram supplied in kit) leave anote and I will walk you through it. PK
