driving habits and stock tranny
ok..i got a question ...if i get a plate mod with my stock tranny..and i push roughly 700 foot pounds will my tranny handle it when i am NOT locked?? wouldnt the biggest problem be the lockup clutch simply not being able to hold that?...cause lets say i get a #10 and slide it BACK it will defuel at higher rpms when i build line pressure right so then with a switch i'll engage the TC lockup above or at 2000 and wont stress it
i heard the internals are quite strong on the tranny so cant i just mash it when its not locked and have some fun?? id check the fluid weekly to see if im burning it up
just brainstorming ideas cause i figured the lock up clutch is the limiting factor to all the power untill u reach monstrous proportions (above 400 or whatever)

The power doesn't hurt the tranny, it is how you use it. My stock tranny held to about 200K, and even then it was not bad unless I abused it (accelerating with the TC locked). I think the tranny might last a long time as long as you don't abuse it.
