Drain and flush cooling system

For the first time today I drained and flushed my cooling system about 29,000 miles a little soon maybee but the flushing agent really got some crud out it took forever to do in all first drain the radiator thru the petcock and its a bear I had antifreeze all over me and its a weeeeee little hole About 10 min drain time .........then you close the petcock fill with water and your flusing agent then start the motor acheive operating temp and run for 10 min that took about 20 min to do then shut off and let cool about 15 min their then open petcock drain about 10 min then close petcock fill with water and let run to get all of the flush out about 10 min let cool 10 min thier... open petcock drain 10 min close petcock ok now after reading the owners manual you need distilled water and your home alone and your truck is out of order after calling a friend and going to town and back 45 min now it takes 6 gal 50/50 mix per owner manual about $30 in Antifreeze and $4 in water you mix and fill the overflow 5 min ....you add the antifreeze first 3 gal......then you start with the distilled water after about 1 and 1/2 gallons it over fills .............evidently you never got all the water out I even blew in the radiator fill and heard air comming from petcock. so I got a gallon and a half of distilled water setting in the garage ...after I drive for a while maybe itll go down...some times when you take your time about 2 and 1/2 hrs and try to do everything by the book it turns out like crap. ........Leason learned for the 100th time IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT !!!!!

I think the rated capacity for anti freeze is with the block empty too...basically a completely empty cooling system. I also don't believe that draining from the petcock will drain the block. Maybe pulling the in/out hose ends off the engine would do the trick.
If anyone knows please ring in with your knowledge. I'd like to do a complete change/flush soon too (approaching my 45k mark) and pull the rad to clean it from that **** breather bottle which got ****canned.
