The DOR bumper is finally here!
After nearly 1 year of waiting, my Denver Off Road bumper has arrived at the shipping terminal and is literally awaiting my pickup. Layne at DOR told me that I received the last clear coated brushed aluminum he's going to produce because of the time and difficulty in getting the brushed finish just right. So now I have to find some way of getting a 375 lb. box in the bed of my truck probably by myself. Keep in mind the bumper weighs around 140lb., so the rest is the shipping container. Pictures will follow of the uncrating and installation.

(I'm sure you know, but Phox_Mulder had some good install info in his posts when he put his on back in July Dor bumper mods Tought he had another post about that time as well but can't find it).

Congratulations on your impending arrival.
I was wondering about yours, read a post on TDR about Layne not doing clear coat's any more.
Getting the crate in the truck shouldn't be a problem, just back up to the dock and shove it in.
(oh, your tailgate probably isn't dock high like mine. ;D )
Getting it out might be troublesome though.
Perhaps you can disassemble the crate whilst it is in the truck bed,
then remove the bumper,
then the crate pieces.
Can't wait to see your install pics.
Just don't do like I did and forget you have the camera sitting there.
I got pics of the start and the finish, but nothing inbetween.

I'll do it if ya fly me in, buy me a few steaks and fly me back.

I bribed the neighbor with a cold one and we got it out of the back tonight. ;D
The crate was 8 feet long and nearly 3 feet wide and 3 feet (?) high! Layne fabricates ears to mount the bumper to the crate feet underneath; slick! A guy at the transport place, Overnite, and a Ram owner himself used a fork lift and we horsed it into my capped bed without too much trouble. The finish is like glass, and there are nice swirl patterns in the aluminum; a beautiful job!
