that's like thirty cents US, right?!

you can get a BHAF for $30-40 US... you can get a quality re-usable filter for $60-70... even if they had to be replaced at the same rate as a BHAF, I'd still take a re-usable filter simply for asthetics because I like the screaming sound

but they don't have to be replaced, they have to be cleaned. yes the cleaning costs you, but I still contend it evens out or is less expensive than running a BHAF. I will not attempt to argue that they filter better than a BHAF.

But unless you're in a VERY dusty invironment, I contend that it splitting hairs... my old 91 got a K&N at about 100k miles. It then delivered trailers all over the nation for 100k miles... then it was driven empty all over the nation... then it delivered trailers for another 100k miles... it's still running well with just shy of 400k on it... that's an OLD K&N that probably doesn't get serviced as often as it should. With a modern, high-quality re-usable filter, I wouldn't worry a bit.

do what you will, but if you want sound, the BHAF isn't what you want

It is made by Donnellson. Same as pretty much all of the other BHAF filters. The NAPA 2790 (42790 WIX), Carquest,...... are all Donnellson filters.

I have the AFE stage 1 "race" setup (6" inlet)

give Rip a call, he can get you the pre-filter for the model that you have I'm sure.

I ran an oiled filter for awhile but didn't like how it would leave a coat of dirty residue on my turbo fins. Switched over to the Napa paper filter and no dust or oily fins anymore.

Does anyone know where I can get a AFE replacement filter part #24-91002?
I want to just replace the K&N with an AFE but still use the K&N cold air system. I have checked genos, puredieselperformance, the only one I found is ATS and they want $100.

Or should I skip this and get a AFE "RACE" intake?

I know some one all ready posted this link. $29.41 for the BHAF. I have ordered oil filters and fuel filters ( Napa Gold) from them also for 1/2 the price then the local Napa.
