Thumbs up Doh! Input shaft let go last night....

Dave Goerend is overnighting me a new shaft, hub, front pump, VB, and an intermediate section just in case. He's also sending his personal slide hammers so I can get it back up and running by Monday.

He offered first off to send me a complete trans, then to have one of his dealers drive 3 hours to fix it for me. The R&R was my idea, he's gonna walk me through it.

They say the trans is only as good as the man that stands behind it.....guess I got my answer.

I would have expected nothing less from Dave, he's top notch.

Stock shaft......wasn't launching or power braking. Apparently it had just decided it had enough.....

I'll know more when I get it out.

Thumbs up

Turns out I stripped the splines off at the hub.

Parts showed up yesterday, just like Dave said they would. New input shaft, hub, front pump, intermediate shaft (just in case) and a new triple disc TC, along with Dave's personal Snap On slide hammers. He also sent a complete gasket set, direct clutch spring and an overhaul manual.

Dave called me at about six times today to make sure everything was going right. He spent about 2 hours on his cell phone, from his nephew's wedding reception, walking me through the R&R on the front section.

I no longer fear the inside of the trans.....Dave taught me a lot today. His customer service is beyond description

Sounds like you had a good experience, if you dont mind about how much was it for a new input shaft? I have been dreading mine going and I have heard they are very pricey.
