Do you know where to get?

I need to come up with a wiring harness for an edge comp for a 99 dodge. I called edge and they said they will not sell just the harness due to past warranty issues with customers. I tried every way possible to get them to sell me one and they said they can't. They couldn't recommend anyone to get one from either.

Any of you know where I can find one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Warranty issues? Will they let you sign a waiver stating that you assume all responsibility? I am sure someone at some point has bought a box and has buggered it up on the install. I would think they would get that person a new one. You may want to try a few vendors and see if they can get you one.

Thanks for the reply mkubacak, I have been calling around to see if any vendors can help me out but no luck as of yet. The guy at edge said I can't buy just a harness... period. No matter why or how if I wanted a harness then I have to buy a new box. He said if I had the old harness I could send it to them and they would repair or replace it but if I don't have one then I would have to buy a box. Makes no sense to me, I would be happy to sign a waiver but it isn't an option apparently.

That makes no sense, not selling parts for products they sell. That would be like not being able to buy a new set of rims for your car if you needed them.

Perhaps, its because stolen boxes show up on swap meets/Ebay, etc, without the wiring harness?

Just a thought.

The guy I talked to said that they have had problems in the past with people giving there buddies there boxes and then they would send them in for warranty work because the harness was messed up. I didn't quite understand what kind of point he was trying to make other than the original purchaser wasn't getting the warranty work done. I understand what you are saying DieselDaze and can see the point. I do not agree with the not selling the harness though. Say you had some kind of accident or something caught fire and melted the harness or any number of things happened to your harness. If your trying to buy and not make a warranty claim then there shouldn't be a problem. Luckily it looks like it all turned out good regardless.

Agreed, I cant justify why they do what they do, just trying to offer some possible ideas.
Im not saying that THIS is stolen.
However, I will use that as an example (and ONLY an example) of things that could be stolen and show up on Ebay.

If the spare harness doesn't work out, maybe you could send the box to Edge for testing or upgrading and get a harness from them once they verify it's legit.

i don't know why they wouldn't send a wiring harness all the brains are in the box anyway. edge makes great probucts but the last people you want to dissapipoint with customer service are members of this site or tdr we probably account for 80% of their sales

Edge has been helpful to me in the past. It takes a day or two to get them mobilized, but they provided me warrenty work even when I told them I'd purchaced the box used.

The guy I talked to was just as nice as could be and really seemed sincere in wanting to help me but he said he just couldn't sell me a harness.
