When I purchased my truck, the guy told me it had stage 3 injectors and now I am starting to wonder. How can I tell? With my comp box off it smokes a little, but not much at all. With my comp on 5X5 I cant hit 1400 degrees EGT until about 7-8 seconds at WOT, yes, the port for the pyro is on the manifold. shouldnt I be running hotter than that? Do I really have stage 3's or was he blowin smoke up my a-- ?

 

Depends if the turbo is stock or not. What kind of boost are you seeing? I've got roughly stage 2's and with my KSB-1 and 40 psi and the comp on 5x5 with the wire tapped I can only hit 1250-1300* at 117mph.

 

Sounds about right. With my box on 3x5, going full throttle in 4th gear, I hit about 1100* by the time I have to shift to 5th. (about 70-75mph) I would try a 5x5 full throttle run in 5th, but my clutch would never forgive me I cant wait till I get my new clutch

 

turbo is stock, I believe it is the HX35 because its a 98.5. Before the wire was tapped the hp was 370 and had about 750tq if I remember correctly. I havent dynoed since the wire tap. I dont have a boost gauge yet, so I unsure of the boost.

 

if you got 370 HP without being tapped you have something more than just stg3s.

 

I agree. I put down 371hp with a comp on 5x5, 275 injectors, and a ksb-1 turbo pushing 40+ psi. You've most definately got more than stage 3's.

 

Ill have to check the printout again, but Im pretty sure thats what it tested at. Can I upgrade my injectors before a new turbo, or just wait paitently until the wife lets me buy a turbo? What would be a good cheap injector to step up to.

 

You could get high tech turbo there in SLC to do an upgrade to a hx35/40 for about 6 bones. It will come back to ya looking brand new. I was all when I got mine back.
