Do I need more boost

Since I installed the 275 injectors I noticed when I push the go pedal down the boost guage shoots right to 20psi. So I'am missing any extra power by not having a boost fooler and turning the boost up to 28-32psi. The egt's do stay in check with just 20psi even when pulling the car around.

Get the boost fooler if all you are getting is 20lbs . Then you will drive around looking like this.

The BD box doesn't have the MAP connection/boost fooler?? I thought part of the way they increase the power was to fool the ECM into thinking it had max boost(20 or so psi) thus allowing full fuel at the lower boost and/or rpm levels. How old is the box? I have heard of some of the old boxes that played with only timing.

Has anyone tried the Turbo Master replacement for the factory wastegate? It's supposed to allow up 38psi.

TE-44:

did you install the boost elbow on your turbo? This little device has an orifice in it that allows you to go over 20psi. All the boost fooler does is lie to the computer about the amount of boost you see, and it does not make boost. Only by installing the little 90deg elbow will your pressures rise.

I do not have a boost fooler installed so I can not set the boost above 20psi. What I need to know is the truck going to make anymore power by installing one and running the boost up, or is running the boost up just for lower egt's.

You'll see a decrease in EGTs with the extra boost, and you should see extra power when you have your foot in it and the boost gauge is pegged out. Right now, you're not getting the full benefit of all the fueling offered by that box.

And I thought the BD Plug N Power had an integrated boost fooler as well. Does it have connections to the MAP sensor?

This box plugs into the vp-44, but BD does sell a boost fooler to go along with the box. I had this box on my 01 auto and I traded that truck for my 02 and got it with 5sp so I would not have to buy a new box.
