That looks good. How did you make the peice that is welded onto the nut that fits into the bearing?

just a piece of 1" bar
i took a drill and started to drill a 7/8 hole into one side of the bar
that centered it on the nut because the threads stick out a little when the nut is tight on the steering box
then i tacked it and then full weld

Nice, I really need one of those but can't find the money for the real deal. I have been through 3 boxes already, and this one is just about dead now too.

if you dont have money...........fab one up. the only difference i see is that the one i made may be overkill because of the metal thicknesses.
the major part is the bearing and i got mine from thebigbearingstore.com
this is the replacement bearing for the one they sell.

Looks like I may be doing this when I get a chance to go back home and get my hands on a welder. I used to work pipeline so I can get some freebies.

is the plate that your bearing is mounted on resting against the sway (stabilizer) bar? cant tell from the photo, it looks really close.

i wanted to do this ($180 is tough for a simple weldment and a bearing) but i dont have a welder and neither do my neighbors so i bit the bullet.

what kinda measurements u need?

it not touching the sway bar.....its got like 1/8"

in hindsite i needed to make the extension for the steering shaft like 1/2" longer
that would have given me more clearence for swaybar(not that it matters cause it no touch)but would make easier to install because it would have more play.
