Diprocol Trans gauge and my new tranny
I just had my tranny rebuilt here locally. I bought and installed a Diprocol trans temp gauge from Geno's Garage. At first it didn't work at all :'(. Then, after calling them, I figured out that I had the trans and the power wires hooked up backwards . They told me that I may have fried the gauge . As I was going thru rushhour today, it finally creeped up to maybr 110*. The tranny guy said that I probley won't see much movement unless the trans is under a heavy load ;D. What do you guys think?

Where is the sender?
In the Pan? Then that might be all you'll see.
Mine's in the "Hot" line from the trans to the Heat Exchanger.
I can get 180-190* in traffic even on a cool day.

Re:Diprocol Trans gauge and my new tranny
he talked me into putting it in the pan. He said that it would restrict the flow to the cooler too much, Geno's recommended this location as well. I was going to buy a crossover for the '94 model, but I couldn't afford another $100 part.

Later on when you can afford the $100 part, put the sender in the hot line where it belongs Otherwise that gauge is pretty much useless, the pan may never get above 150, but the fluid could be cooking at 250 coming out of the tranny, and you would never know it.
That fluid in the pan is already mixed with the returning cool fluid, not an accurate gauge of what is really going on with your tranny.

You can always do what I did and install a "TEE" in the HOT line using compression fittings that I got from NAPA. Total cost was less than $10.00 and it took me about an hour or so to do the install. It has been that way for over two years and no problems yet. The brass "TEE" will not affect the flow of the fluid at all.
You can see just how hard your tranny is working by watching the temp changes. With the sender measuring the fluid temp as it exits out of the tranny,,,,,,,,, you would be suprised how much the temp will change with varying loads on the transmission.
