DII's or DIII's

I HAVE 02 3500ho with E-Z ,4" ex.,Scotty II,and SBC. Should I go for the II's or III's haul Camper and ATV trailer ? Should I get Piers aux fuel pusher pump or Wildcat's Holley Black set up?

First off, I'd get gauges. EGT, Boost, Fuel Pressure. Since you've already got the SBC, I'd go with a set of DDIII'S, but I'm a little extreme. Probably go with a set of 2's to help keep EGT's in check and not put out to much smoke while towing. As far as the pusher pump or Holley Black, check your FP first. It should read about 13-15 at idle and absolutely nothing less than 8psi at any time. If it is below 8psi at anytime, I'd suggest the Holley Black. I get 16.6 at idle and nothing less than 13 at WOT. ;D

I have an 02 as well u can see my sig for mods these trucks will really get up and go. But I can assure you that with the mods you plan u need to get your FP problem fixed and u may not think you have one but you do. Make sure you get gauges My truck can get out of hand really quick even with the PDR hx 40 turbo im running. If you have any other 02 questions PM me I can help out.

I have an '02 with DDII's and an EZ ,you have to try to make more than 1150deg.towing. If I started over I'd probaly put in DDIII's,you can't get to much power.I pull a 32ft 5er and run about 36 to 38psi boost on a stock turbo.......Blue

Blue,<br><br>How you getting so much boost out of that thing? Is it an HY or an HX? I only get 29# on 5x5 on my ETC but is seems to be enough to control my EGT's.<br><br>Roger

Do you have the boosdt elbow installed? A turbomaster kit can also fix that for ya!

I get 35 out of my HY35 with the comp acting as an EZ.<br><br>Hey Jamie, what's 40+psi of turbo boost sound like? I'm dying to hear it.

Blue it sounds like a vaccume cleaner on steroids! LOL actully it certinly does suck! ;D its hard to hear the turbo over my exhaust and laughing while accellerating

I have a HX35 with a boost elbow.To tell ya the truth I'm not that impressed at 36 to 38lbs of boost.I had an '01 with the same exhaust system and BAHF,DDII's with PS boost fooler.It would make 32 to 35psi of boost........Blue

Jamie, I am running an ETC. No boost elbow. Hard line is crimped. With an EZ and my DD2's was getting 24lbs. Now with Comp 29lbs. EGT's are well under control and performance is great. I have checked all of my clamps, re-torqued the manifold bolts. Haven't pressure checked tho with cap and gauge. Boost gauge tapped into airhorn. Funny thing tho, now can bark turbo when letting off to quickly. Thats what prompted my to response to this thread. Most others with my setup like Blue are seeing 34-35lbs. I am more concerned with barking the turbo than boost numbers I guess. If systems checks out with no leaks, may consider turbomaster to increase boost, but still would probably bark the turbo, maybe even worse, so what's the point? Again, EGT's and performance is not the problem, barking turbo is.<br><br>Roger<br><br>PS. Yes, if I had the money I would invest in a PDR HX35W 14cm, but that is a thousand bucks I don't have right now.

I'm running DD2's in my 01 HO. Exhaust temps get out of hand real fast! With the 4.10 gears, it'll lite up the rear tires on demand through 40mph on dry pavement, so I don't really have any complaints about performance. To keep EGT down, I have to date done 4&quot; exhaust, AFE Mega Cannon, ported the heck out of all the factory stuff, and run the Comp in EZ #3 mode only. <br><br>With the HO, unless you are ready for a PDRHX40, I have found that the DD2s are about it. <br><br>Oh, on the fun side, they will let you smoke all you want also ;D

I run the comp on 5x5 and with dd2's i dont really have a heat problem unless I keep in on 5x5 when I tow the camper. Only problem I have is slipping the clutch if I dont watch it. If you want to test the dd2's with the ez you can cruise in mine. I live in the last frontier and would show you what she feels like.

With my HY35 and turbomaster I had it cranked up to 38#'s and it screamed with my comp on 3. Like Jamie said it sounds like a nuclear powered vacuum cleaner. Problem was I could get the EGT's over 1300 in about 4-5 seconds of pedal to floor. Figured it was due to the stock 9 cm housing. Just changed over this weekend to HX35/14 cm housing with comp brass elbow. EGT's are much better but it is only maxing out @ 28-30 #'s. I am ordering the turbomaster tommorow, I miss the 38# scream<br>Tim<br>ps bark is cavitation
