just a follow-up:
I installed the airtex pump a couple days ago and am very impressed with it.
It is much quieter than the carter(or whatever knockoff) pumps I have been running.
The pressure on my Isspro mechanical gauge reads 16-17 at idle, 14-15 highway, WOT is 13 psi. The lowest I could get it to drop to was right at 11 and that was going uphill in 3rd gear standing on the go pedal at 3000 rpms.
I do have the big line/relocation kit from vulcan, so I'm not sure what numbers it would put out in the stock location and lines. I am still running the stock fuel filter assembly also.
While I was there I made a protective cover/box for it out of sheetmetal, hopefully this will last for awhile. when/if this one goes out, I'm going the route of a FASS, Airdog, or Rasp system
Thanks for all the replies, hopefully what info I''ve put here about the airtex pump is usefull to someone.
