Delivery valves, injesctors, so confusing

Ok, form what I can tell, on the 12v cummins, there were varius combinatios of DV's and injectors used.

On the dually, I'm not wanting to go all out, thats what the other truck is for. I'm thinking usable towing power without the worry of high EGT's

My brother may be borrowing my dually from time to time and he has minimal mechnical knowledge, so I'd like to keep it simple.

So far, #10 plate, stock location, BHAF, 4" exhaust. 175hp pump, 5 speed

Would a set of DV's and injectors from a 215hp truck make any difference?

This truck has become my "mule" just a no-nonsence pulling rig. As a matter of fact, now I can lift my 2500 an not worry about not being able to tow anymore.

I can't remember what size DV's the 175 pumps have, but if they're smaller than the 181's found in the 215 pumps, then yes, a set of 181's or 191's would be nice... probably not necessary to support the 215 injectors, but man, if you're gonna take the time to install injectors, I'd just put a set of 370's in it and be done w/ it... you may have to slide that plate back a little depending on what you've got as far as a tranny, but...

I would skip the DV's and just buy a set of 370 injectors. with that setup in my truck I was putting down some pretty good HP to the ground. right around 300HP. still low enough to keep Egts cool while towing. with that same set up i took a set of DV's out of my friends 98 12v 5spd DOdge and did not really see a difference. just a little more smoke but other than that nothing. Now when I went to the laser cut DV's it was like going from stock fuel plate to a #10 all over again.
Hope that helps

My intentions on this truck is to do it cheap. I've told myself I'm not putting a lot of money in it, but you know how that works.

Probably try to find a set of used injectors, poosibly 181dv's. I even thought about doing a little creative filing on the fuel plate, but decided against it since I know I'd probably go overboard.

bah, I ground my plate, and I LOVE IT!

you can always slide it back a little if you go "overboard" (not sure what that means... mine's ground flat and slammed way forward! )

I would definately keep an eye out for some 181 DV's... the 191's will work too, but the 181's should be cheap.

I still contend that if you're gonna take the time to do injectors, you might as well drop a few hundred on some 370's and never have to mess w/ 'em again.
