any head work on that truck? I've been wanting to try some water/methanol, but I'm scared of hurting the head gasket. timing is at 16.5* I've got my HX40 set at 35-40psi (boost elbows are stupid... oddly enough, no detectable change in EGT climb rate w/ lower boost...)
saving for a real turbo, but I feel I'll get more bang for the buck w/ the water/alky

Can anyone suggest what L/C DV's would do in my situation?
Look at my sig below. I have the stock DV's in now. I want lots of power and smoke like the rest of ya'll but when I go to tow, I don't want to have to drive using the EGT guage too much. I mean, I don't mind having to back out of it at times, but just not where it gets tiring and starts to get on your nerves.
Appreciate anyones advice,
JD

So, can i put a different turbo housing on my truck if i needed it. Im gonna put my old plate back in, and adjust my governor lever arm to get egt's back down, and have good power. I think the problem is the plate i have now doesent defuel any on the top end, and EGT's fly up then. My truck should be pretty drivable EGT wise with DV's shouldnt it? I think once i get my old plate back in and set up right, egt;s should be fine. Anyone wanna guess my 1/8th or 1/4 strip times? Also, will it smoke a lot more? Thanks

Will a different turbo housing fit on my truck??? I thought i heard you couldnt put one on an automatic, but i dont know for sure. Also, how much slower would it spool with a 16cm housing, and how much lower would EGT's be? Thanks.

I just wasnt positive about it, and i wanted to be sure. Maybe ill tell my parents i want a turbo housing for Christmas, and ill buy the D.V.'s later. I dont want to have to watch my EGT's so bad i cant drive it . So..............What size should i get? A 16cm? I dont want it laggy. TST only sells a 16cm non wastegated housing. Should i get one wastegated or non wastegated? How much will a 16cm housing drop my EGT's? Will it still spool pretty quick? Thanks

I never had a 16cm housing but I do have the 18cm housing and it lowered egts about 200* and 15 pounds of boost but it is cooler boost that with a 12CM housing. I have a 16CM housing for sale for 110$ if you decide to buy one.

Go to 16cm housing.....if you can move enough fuel soon enough you will probably not notice any slower spool up but the truck WILL launch much harder especially with 191 dv's.

Yes. Im sure it would still be very driveable for someone that could hold there foot out of it, but that aint me . I think i might just try and get a turbo housing, and buy some D.V.'s later on. Is a Non Wastegated 16cm housing what i need? Will it lower or raise boost, or what? I like the power i have right now, pretty good, but i can already hit about 1400-1450 by the time i get to 65mph, and i dont need higher EGT's than i already have, since i pull enough. I think ill see if i can get a turbo housing first, and see if the deal goes through with the TC whenever he takes it out, and then ill go from there i guess. My truck smokes a LOT before boost comes on, so do you all think that i could spool the 16cm about as quick as i can the 12? I dont want it to be really laggy. Thanks
