defueling problem

defueling problem
I'm having a problem with my truck defueling. I have had a bullydog box plugged in for quiet a while, added Turbo master to my turbo lately, boosting my psi up to 28. When taking off fairly quick the engine seems to starve a little for fuel. Not real bad but noticable. Should the box fool the ECM from defueling the engine? ???

Re:defueling problem
Gene,
The '01 and and '02 trucks have an off line defueling stumble that shows its face when you try to do quick launches. It stems from the torque management system and is designed to limit the torque from the engine to help protect the trannys. BD has created the Race Anti Defuel (RAD) box to stop this defueling from happening, and they work very well. For drag racing they are a very worthwhile investment. Outside of having this box, you're stuck with the off line stumble.

Re:defueling problem
Yep, that's what's happening. The harder you try (i.e. more boost), the worse the defueling gets. Some trucks are worse than others, too, but all 01s and 02s I have ever seen have the problem. The RAD cut 3 tenths off my 1/4 mile time... mostly in the first 60 feet.

Re:defueling problem
The RADD made all the difference for me. I am now doing 20 psi boost launches (1.77 60' times) with no bogging at all. The only problem is when the anti-defueler is engaged your tach and other gages don't work. It also causes your check engine light to come on until you have started your truck 5 times. Still a necessity if you are going to drag race a 2001 or 2002 CTD. Haisley machine makes an anti-defueler but I'm not sure what it is for. If you wanted to check it out.

So that explains why when I stall my truck up to around 10psi and mash it, it bogs. That really ticks me off.

You can stall up to 10psi? I didnt know that. Whats the highest you stall to?

Re:defueling problem
You may also notice that when brake stalling the truck you can't get past 2000 rpm even with a stock TC.
I use the BD RAD box for the track. At this time I know of no way to fix the problem for everyday use. I have learned that the best way to deal with it is to roll on the throtle slowly.
