defueling with comp tapped
with the mods I have I still can't do a burn out not that that is top priority just trying to prove a point. and if i take off to hard it misses, defules studders what ever you want to call it i am seeing 30psi. of boost egt's and egt's are 900- 1000 seems a little low to me any clue what causes it

I'm not sure on the 01 for defueling but with the #s your posting it sounds all pretty low. If I had to guess I would say you have either a bad pump connection or a bad pump. Also check the ground to the comp while your looking. Will it do the same thing if you walk on it in high gear or just when you take off?

If its only doing it while power braking than it must have something to do with the defueling on the newer trucks. My 98.5 only had defueling above 2700 (untill it got flshed to a drag ) nothing down low but I have heard of this problem on the newer trucks. I think BD sells a RAD for this problem. What pyro do you reach at WOT with the comp on 5x5 on the freeway? Must be more than 1000

My truck does the same thing, not as bad, but it still does it. The ECM is programmed to back down the fuel for the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. This was to prevent destroying the trannies. A BD RAD will help you out, but it will be hard on your trannie. I am currently looking for a RAD myself, just to use while drag racing.

Yup! 01 & 02 Autos defuel if too much torque applied before speed comes up.
If you build boost slowly to 5-6 psi and release brake as you floor it...it will work best. Anything over 6-8 psi boost while power braking...you run the risk of braking your output shaft anyway....unless you have billet.
MAd ECM will disable the defueling...better way to go than RAD.

maybe i tapped the wrong wire too. I pretty much have the same truck but with 275 injectors and mine has the 3:55's in it and I cant get anymore than 25 lbs of boost and cant hardly get the egt to climb much over 1100*.But mine does defuel when you stand on it from a dead stop. Also IF i hold it to the floor and I turn it on you can feel a big difference but the comp will run as an EZ if i have the wrong wire tapped, right?
