DDP3's in, and driven... (impressions)
After a marathon injector install thanks to me dropping one of the black return line bolts down into the oily abyss that is the side of my truck, I got the DDP stage 3's in.
Wow does this sucker idle NICELY even when cold. Granted, with 255k, my old 180 injectors were worn, but these are very nice.
I set the #10 at .070" back from full forward after somewhat flattening the top curve, making it between a 10 and 100. I also pulled the starwheel back some
The low end is great - the truck lunges off the line before the turbo spools like I would expect a gasser to do. The smoke is just about the same as the stockers as the turbo spools, but less at the very low end (turning the starwheel back may have helped with this), and once the turbo spools, I can't see any smoke.
I'm pulling 40-41psi on the top end. Is this too much for a 35/40 w/60mm compressor?
EGT's are good.. I can barely hit 1400 from a 0-80 run, and on a 65-90 run I did see a little more than that, so I backed out. (Mind you, I have *THE* worst possible aerodynamic configuration)
The seat-of-the-pants power increase isn't what I was expecting, but these are a good match for the 35/40..but I still think I should have gotten the stage 4's and just pulled the plate back some.
I want to dyno the truck before I decide that, but my weekends are filled with other stuff, and I fear I won't be able to until after my 30 days is up.
All in all I'm pleased.

Eskimo, good to here you like them.
I just put in stage 4's this past weekend along with fixing my leaky vacuum pump. I pulled my plate all the way back and adjusted the gov. arm, to prevent the Con O clutch, from dieing on me. So far I've only driven it once with the plow on it, everything seems to be the same as the stock 215's with the plate full forward, but now when your cruizing at lets say 45mph in 4th and punch it, before it would pull hard then harder, now it just turns on like a light switch and instant power seems like there is a on/off spot in the throttle. Can't really report smoke amounts, seeing as I only drove it easy and at night, maybe more info next week. I am really looking forward to seeing their true potential this summer, the HT3B is sitting in the garage .
Tim.

I'd say you should look at lowering boost to the 35 range. Try a bigger housing if you have it.

WOT.. Please let me know about EGT's with the plate back and the Stage 4's.. These things control smoke so well I could certainly live with a bit more, and you can never have too much power! I've not got much time left where I can swap 'em out...
If someone tows pretty heavy though, the 3's would be PERFECT.. I just don't tow heavy much at all... 14k combined is the usual, and that's not terribly often.
