DDP or F1 sticks?

Hey guys.

Ive read some older threads on this topic but Im lookin for more recent info/opinions.

First off, Im lookin at swappin out my hybrid turbo for a 62/65/12,13,or 14.

Im wondering witch set of sticks you guys like best. Im shootin for 450 rwhp and am thinkin either Mach 1.6's or DDP 3's.

I dont wanna jump to 150's cause I think that'd be too much for what I use my truck for OFF the track.
I think 1.6's might be too small but no one seems to run mach 2's or 3's so thats why I jump to DDP 3's.

Which do you guys like better for power, light smoke, Low egt's?
TIA, Ian.

i've never tried mach's, but i know that the DDPs i have in my truck now are awesome. i went from FBD150s to DDP200s with very little increase in smoke, and hardly any increase EGTs, but a lot more power! you're on the right track with the injectors tho. either one would be great, but if i were you, i'd go with the 150s and a 62/65/14. with the box off, it should tow great and keep EGTs in check.

I run DDP's in mine and they run smooth and have good power. I haven't ran the F-1's but hear they are good to.

Hmm, always back and forth with DDP and F1 hahaha.

Im not too worried about towing cause I turn the J/A down to tow anyway, The biggest thing Im wondering about is HOW I tow, and plowing.

Plowing I turn my chip off, and wonder about that size turbo with 100-150 sticks.

All my towing is constant stop and go around town and I dont wanna be rollin coal at every light ya know.

With that said, still the same thought about 150's Stevewes?

I have an auto so its a HY35. Im upgrading my tranny this winter, and next year a turbo rebuild with M4 or 5. This set up pretty well maxs all stock componds i have.

The smoke should be controlable with your right foot. If you are running the stock turbo it shouldn't be bad.

I've been running the Mach 3s for 75k miles. I've run a Comp, a Drag Comp, a Smarty, an EZ, and now a Blue Chip FMS (and any combo of those parts!). I didn't tow more than a small utility trailer when I put the injectors in, so it was all good. I moved up to a 13k toy hauler and found that the injectors are bigger than I would want if I was doing it again. A set of injectors between 80-100 hp would be better than the 130s I have now. Of course the 150hp Mach 4s are a different pattern and smoke less than my 130s, but I don't want to pay to see for myself! I now use the Smarty for timing/DTC/speedo adjustment, the FMS for adjustable fueling and I can drive around the smoke of the sticks.

My point is to use as small a set of injectors as you can BY THEMSELVES in daily driving and towing with the boxes off and use the adjustable boxes to get the power you want for dyno, pulling, racing, etc.
Just my 0.02!!

Wow Joe your gnarly! My bad I thought I read 6 speed in your sig. But that set up with the HY!?

Beast, good advice. Those were along the lines I was thinkin as well.
Mike D has been tellin me id love Mach 4's IHO, which I know I would but id have to be lookin into turbo upgrades for those for sure, so as for now, I like the sound of 1.6's.

We'll see what time brings for me.
Thanks all.

I think that both sticks are very good. I've ran both the F1 sticks and the dynomite sticks. Honestly, I would let my pocket tell me which to choose. For the 150 sticks, you'll need a bigger turbo or almost twins. For 1.6's or 110's, your on the edge of manageable if you tow. If you do lots of driving empty, a stock turbo should be ok. I picked up fuel mileage using both sticks. A GT3782 or S362 is nice pick for the 110 rwhp sticks. Low smoke and egt's almost as good or better than stock. I put down a 450rwhp dyno run on 110's at our last dyno outting on a GT3782R, so they work decent. My max egt's are around 1200-1300 deg's, with the twins I'm 1000-1100 deg's.

I think Im gonna do 1.6's with my Hybrid right now. Down the road, I would really like to jump to a 62/71, or twins have always sounded like a pos for me and just use the hybrid as the top turbo with a s400 under it and mach 4's.

Just gonna take it a step at a time for now.

Ya unfortunately its an auto well i did the rollers this weekend & it maxed out my tranny i did 407Hp 870TQ and the tranny started to slip like i thought it would. No matter i got my DTT T/C so now on to upgrading my tranny this winter then ill pour more HP parts into it.

BTW you'll lov those MACH 1.6s gives it a nice kick ...

yea i would say go with the 1.6s. i understand about the smoke issue. i just know from my point of view, i got 150s and ended up wanting more. once i got 200s i was happy. but every setup is different. with so much towing and plowing in mind you would be good with 1.6s.
