I'm afraid the final decision will have to be yours. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Good luck.

Your best bet for the info is to take some time and call each one and discuss your options. Be prepared to spend some time with each one and then you will have the info you want. You may want to think of a list of questions and the write them down so you ask the same questions. As you are talking to each one note the answers and after you are done on the phone you wil have something to base your judgement on.

I was in this same boat a few months ago. I talked to both extensively about my final plans (600+hp) and DTT made me feel more confident that there's will hold the power forever. Dave said he has a couple of guys making that kind of power on his tranny but they don't have a lot of miles on them. I will say this though, Dave his the absolute best warranty in the game, period. Call both guys up and be very honest with them on what you intend to do with your truck and then go from there. DTT has been around for a very long time and they have a bunch of guys over the 600 mark. Dave hasn't been around as long so his stuff is still fairly new. I made my decision and I couldn't be happier.

I went with Dave, but either is great. I think Dave has the best bang for the buck. LIFETIME warranty on his triple disc converter, and 100k on the tranny. Read the thread about the guy submerging his truck in water, and Dave sending him a whole new tranny! Great guy to deal with, but like i said. Both are good. I just like Goerend .

The shop has been around since the 1940's and they have specialized in tranny's, tc's, ect. since 1978.

Goerend was an option I checked into ten years ago.
Perhaps you never heard of him because he doesn't spend a lot on advertisements.

I'd call them both and ask how they, what they do to build there trannys to last and hold the power! The decision should be easy.

The only thing i can say about dave is that i have heard lots of good things about him. I have no personal experience with his tranny's.

With DTT i know and regularly talk to 5 guys that make around 600hp with DTT trannys. All are happy with DTT. One of these guys originally had a full ATS tranny and then felt it was worth the money to switch to DTT.

As for me, i've had nothing but perfect service from my DTT and would definitely go with them if i had it to do over again. I've got 80000 miles on their setup. The truck was running high 12's pretty much as soon as the tranny was in and is now running high 11's. I've towed 12000lb gooseneck with it often, daily driven it, etc, and it's been perfect.

You may never intend to make 600+hp, but the way i see it is if their tranny's do this well with 600hp or more, it will be cake for them to hold anything less.

JMO,

Chris

Lots more years then BabyBlue has been around. One day, somewhere, sometime, he'll mature into a fine young man.
Maybe not.
