Stupid stacks!

Anyone else have this problem? Start the truck up with the windows down and soot chips float on into the cab. These things are the worst, if you wipe them off they make a mess.

Forrest, those are my 4wheeling stacks, cut short so I dont catch them on anything, they are custom made but they are short. I am running some strait cut ones right now and they are about 2" taller than the cab.

ahh, cool... how do you like the straight cut stacks? I like the way they look, but it kinda sucks how dirty they get on the back side... the slash cuts don't seem to get so dirty.

Mine are 48's turned to the rear, no soot problem here. Check the links to my album.

if I had a dually, I'd run turnouts... I just don't like the way they look on a SRW truck. I had them turned out at 45*, and they just didn't look right. I experimented w/ turning them back or turning them 90*. I liked both better than 45, but I just think miter cuts look best.

I had soot shower problems w/ my turnouts, so I'll just deal w/ it w/ the miters.

Still waiting for it to snow up here now... it has just got to be halarious to see the snow poof out of the 48" miter cuts on my rig now. I'll never go back to pipes! Only drawback is the amount of bug juice that builds up on the front side, they stick up about a foot or so over the cab top.

When I was considering stacks I thought about rain flaps. I think they look cool. (I might be a redneck.) I ruled them out because I sit in traffic so much. The constant "tink tink tink tink" would drive me insane.

a single stack w/ a rain cap shouldn't tink too bad... and actually, THEORETICLY, they shouldn't tink too bad w/ duals because turbocharged exhaust is a steady stream and doesn't have any pulses, but if the flow is very low (like a 5.9 liter motor breathing out of dual 5" pipes! LOL!) they can bounce
