I run 35's. At first all I did was notch the inner fender by the bumper and a little bit of the plastic on the bumper, you only notice it when I point it out. That was fine but I quickly grew tired of the tires rubbing on the back of the inner fender when turning while going up an incline so I put d25's in it and so far I am satisfied with the results. My truck sat really high from the factory none of my friends dodges sat as high, so depending on what options your truck has it might turn out a little different. With the d25's it sits 1.5" higher in the back then the front.

I'm running the Skyjacker 4.5 with 35 inch tires.

Pics in my album.

My tires look small, to me anyway.

If you don't want to go much taller, I'd say go with the D25 springs and DT control arms,
you should be able to fit the tires with those rims.

Without the longer control arms, the tires will rub the back of the inner fender.

I really like the lift and tire combination that I am running. It's my daily driver and I like the ride and the look. I highly recommend the Skyjacker lifts, as well as the dual shocks up front.

There are 3" lifts out there, but I found none that were as specific to the make, model, and engine as the Skyjacker products.

I also have 4.5" of backspacing on the wheels.

I ain't the greatest picture taker in the world, but have a few photos posted.

Have fun!

Matt

Take a look at my 1 pic in my album and at my sig. Thats the only pic I have cuz of the mB size limit. PM me if you want some more pics and I'll email 'em to ya. I like my lift, except for the rough ride, but what do I care, I'm a college kid looking to pick up chicks!!!!!!

Hunter

P.S.....they don't rub at all.

I'm actually debating a 4.5" lift myself. I like the way dodgediesel4x4's looked and it made me want to lift mine. Hey hunter, you ever want to sell your lift, let me know.

HAHAHAHA good luck on getting me to make you that deal!!! I'd have to be prety tore down at the Chicken in order to make that offer .

Now as for the leveling kit OO, I think that would suit you just fine. I had the kit on my old 98 12v'er with 33's on 16.5 rims, and noooooo rubbing at all (there was plenty of room to fit 35's with no rubbing also). I just didn't have the $ to afford new 35's. I can see why they might quit making 16.5's....hard to find tires and not that strong of a market.

Good luck

Hunter

I would recommend the D25s. 4.5" IMHO is just too much lift-- your handling gets fishy and you are past the limits of stock parts-- not to mention it's a lot more $$

I just had my BFG ATs installed yesterday. They're 315/75/16s, or 35x12.50x16. I had them installed an 16x10" wheels with 4.5" backspacing. As you can see in my sig, I have the D25 coils and DLL232 control arms (which ar the same size as stock with better flex).

After debating the tire and wheel combo for more than 6 months and reading posts on this forum and several others, I thought there was a good chance that they would fit without rubbing.

I was wrong. Let's just say that the new DT extended control arms have already been ordered and should ship today. I was really surprised how much large those tires are than the 32s that were on it. I may go out and measure tonight. They look massive compared to those tires. I thought I would have plenty of room. They couldn't even install them without taking off the factory mud flaps.

I really don't want to alter my rear suspension because I do tow an RV in the summer, so the SJ 4.5" is probably out of the question. If the DT control arms don't work, I have not decided which way I will go yet. May sell these wheels and tires and drop to 33s.

If I manage to make these work, some big fender flares are the next mod for sure.
