cut delivery valves

i have heard of laser cut dv's and i was wondering how they lazer cut them. i have seen cut dv's and i will more than likely cut my own. but i can not figure out how you would do it with a lazer. and would a cut set[181's] be better than a set of 191's ?

Save your money and your time. My pump hated them both times I tried them.

Re:cut delivery valves

Ok, cut the retraction piston/collar off a set.

Not the seat/sealing area, but the collar below that.

I agree with Don. Cut DV's are nasty in the smoke department and if you do not have enough air, it will actually over fuel to the point of a loss of power. I am not sure, but to me it look slike they create a secondary injection issue that is just a smoking mess. I have run them and I they did add power, but there was fuel from other sources that was much more friendly IMO.

Your sig says 398hp, you should still have more power to get with what you have already and you'll be much happier. Again Just my unsolicited opinion.

Re:cut delivery valves

I put a set of the laser cut DV's in my truck but now from these posts I think I may have made a mistake. What else can I do to get more power besides the DV's. I seemed to notice pretty good power improvement when I put mine in but I have not dyno'ed it to know for sure. Hope that I am not hurting anything with them in there. Can anyone tell me what else I should do besides what I have already done.
Thanks
Justin

Re:cut delivery valves

I don't think you are hurting anything and they do/will add power. What did it do to your smoke level?

Re:cut delivery valves

They sure picked up my 180 pump but I ran Twins with them, Jason Burton gained 80 hp in valet and 32 in full fuel doing back to back tests(with an hour) of each other but he only had a 40 for air so it was done!

Re:cut delivery valves

DavidTD,
When I first installed them it seemed like it made the truck smoke a lot but I recently put my #6 plate back in and adjusted gov lever. It seems to not smoke that bad any more. I get a good shot of smoke when I step on it but it clears up pretty quick. Don't get me wrong I can make it smoke like a frieght train when someone is tailing me. I love doing that too. I am pleased with the Laser Cut DV's. The only thing that I don't like about them is the stumble I have between 1000 and 1200 RPM. It got much worse when I put them in. I am told that is from to much fuel at low RPM.

Re:cut delivery valves

my truck is starving for air right now, i still have my #10 plate in the stock position. i am fixing to bolt on a hx 55 so the air should be there. i am look at getting more fuel pretty quick. i was planning on a #0 plate. i still think i may be under fueled with the 370s and the new turbo. so i have been thinking about some cut dv's.
