Custom Bumpers

I know I posted a thread like this before. I was wondering if anyone had plans or links to a set of plans to build custom front and rear bumpers. I want to do something like the Reunel bumpers in the front and pipe with a drop in the rear. If anyone has any info please feel free to respond. I have the material and resources to do all the fab work, just need some plans specific to the Dodge 2nd Gen. Thanks in advance.

If you do make something i very interested in what turns out...

I looking for a simple but stronger bumper for the front of my 2nd gen but I don't want to pay 3,000 for one!

Love to see pic of the design too... as well as the finished product!

As soon as I get started on it and get a good layout I will share. I dont want to steal anyones ideas I basically just need the rough measurments for angles and matching the front part of the wheel well on the front fender. The rest will be my design. Of course inspired by what I can find on the internet!

If you do decide to make some bumpers I would be interested in purchasing some maybe. I have a rear bumper thats dented and was thinking of a tough country or just something simple that somebody made. If you could post pics when you get a chance to make em that would be great. Oh yea I am in the Houston area so possibly a stones throw from you. Take care

TXwelder,
Where is your home port?

I am looking at the same situation from the other side of the spectrum. I am an Mechanical Engineer and have all the tools to do build a CAD model of a custom bumper, but don't have to tools to fab the bumper.

Maybe if home is somewhere close, we could team up on this effort.

Im stationed in Yuma, AZ. Some distance from VA. I appreciate the offer. I guess I am just going to have to do a mock up with cardboard until I get it right then measure off of that. I wont be stingy either. Once I get it done I will share with whoever is interested in whatever my end product is.

www.offroadtechinc.com has plans for their bumpers on the website. this is by far my personal favorite bumper. they have plans for both front and rear. these are different than most others you usually see. i don't know if this is the style you are looking for but i hope this helps.

I am going to plan & build a poor boy's front bumper as soon as I get a chance to. It want be long because all my OEM plastic junk keeps tearing the rivets out that I keep putting back in. I am going to try to design one either using 4x4 or 6x4 square tubing stacked on top of one another & cut & bent at the proper places. I am going to try to make it winch capable if you need one. Personally I don't care for a winch, so I am primarily going to build a super duty replacement. I am going to look at possibly using 12,14, or 16 inch channel iron cut, bent & welded at the proper locations to make a bumper with too. I will keep y'all posted. I have an EX NASA welder that does my work. It will be RIGHT, I can assure you of that.
