Nope. Just unbolt the stock air box, slide the intake elbow onto the BHAF and tighten it down.

Highly recommend that you acquire a short piece of 4'' pvc, abs or tailpipe to insert inside the BHAF to keep it rigid when you tighten down the clamp. There have been quite few folks very upset to find the filter half way off when they pop the hood

I crank the snot out of that clamp, and I've NEVER had a problem w/ a Fleetguard or Lubefiner filter trying to collapse or slide off.

You're lucky. My buddies who work at Cummins NW cringe every time they see a BHAF. Stems finding a few popped off. Several folks on TDR have also reported theirs coming off. Not sure if it's brand specific or what.

Just went to napa and ordered.........will have 700 am tommorow........56.00......that sound right?

And i have a 2' section of 4" from my system left over......

So your saying to cut a length and shove inside to keep from collapsing?

$56 sounds steep... but it's gonna boil down to where you're located and what you can get and when.

down in the big truck part of town, there's a filter shop where I get my BHAF's for $30 a piece.

yes, he's saying cut a short length of 4" pipe and use it to reinforce the throat so that the filter can't slide out of the hose. I'm saying I've never had a problem with Fleetguard or Lubefiner brand filters. YMMV

My NAPA 2790 BHAF is 2-1/2 years old (gotta replace it one of these days - it's looking a little dingy) and has never had a problem with the inlet duct slipping off or the filter "nozzle" collapsing under the loading of the duct clamp. YMMV.
