Custom airbox mod.....Whatcha think?

Ok so i'm thinkin of cutting a majority of the plastic from the stock box....I will layout and cut under the filter, along the sides and possibly the bottom.

Then i will epoxy in this sweet S/S mesh we have at work....This stuff is strong enough to keep the structual integrity of the box....

I figure i can pull just as much air i kniw it will be warmer, but it should work ok........

Oh yea theres already a K+N dropin to......

Should i or not?

Plus gonna bendup a heat shield/water deflector to go around the 3 sides.......

Check out my air filter mod in my photo gallery. Not great, but it was a first time effort. Might give you some ideas.

the BHAF is like $30... the hose isn't the restriction, the filter and filter box are the restriction points.

If your filter minder isn't pulling down you don't need more holes in your airbox.

I hole sawed a 3.5'' hole on the rear of my airbox and another in the firewall, hooked them together with 4'' RV dump hose. Poor man's Scotty. Cool outside air rather than underhood hot air.
