Sam is retired now and although he still owns Rapid Brake it doesn't seem like the guys running it are in to sales outside of their shop.
I buy them here www.tirerack.com
I also buy Brembo rotors, best I've found, from the same source.
Pretty sure they offer the Brembos in slotted or smooth.

Huh?! Been a while since I've called them. Last I talked to someone else there, they weren't quite as helpful as Sam was Oh Well!

Do they have the Brembo's for our old '95's?? With the one piece hub/rotor assembly?

Chris if you mean tirerack, yes they do, best price you can find. If it isn't listed on their website call.
Sam said he couldn't even come close to tirerack's price on Brembos so the only time he ever used them was on high end sports cars.
Guess that's saying quite a bit when coming from a lifelong brake expert.

Thanks Bill...I'll give them a shout when the old workhorse needs rotors again. Probably in another 60K or so, it'll be ready

Tyler, you're gonna

As much as I hate buying stuff from 4 Wheel Parts, they have the rotors with free Hawk pads for a little over $200 last time I checked.

I run them and they've far outlasted anything else I've run on my truck by like 3X. I just put on my second set of pads and had to have 1 side turned on one rotor (let it go a day too long). I'm guessing 45K+ out of the last set of pads, I was doing pads every 15-18K.

Your right. I am but oh well. I'll get over it. I just want these babies to come in. I've got a road trip this weekend and I wanna get them installed and broken in before I leave for it.

Oh most definately. I've got about a mile of abandoned road next to my house that'll facilitate the neccesary break in procedures.

BB--

Another FYI. The slotting on the rotors isn't really necessary in a truck application. In fact, they aren't really necessary ever. What you want is a smooth rotor.

Slots and drilling and other machining to the rotor face was conceived as an effort to combat the build-up of gases between the pad and rotor at high temps. Under hard braking, pads would "outgas" at high temps.

But two things happened that made rotor "texturing" less desirable. First, the chemistry of the pads themselves changed, eliminating the outgassing almost entirely. Second, many applications saw that rotor texturing created stress risers which led to cracking of the rotors.

Obviously, this is more of an issue with a cast rotor than a forged or billet rotor, but cast is about all you can get for our trucks, so stress risers are a real factor-- albeit a small one in all probability.

Enjoy the power stops. Oh, and I have 53K+ on my OEM brakes and they have a lot of lining left.....

Does anyone have any opinion of the Brembo's vs the Powerslots? I know of Brembo's reputation in sportier vehicles, just curious how the Brembo's perform on our Dodges?

BB, what pads did you order? I don't remember you mentioning any, maybe I just missed it. Have the rotors come in yet?

I don't think you can go wrong with either. But there's no doubting the Brembo name, and if the price is comparable, I'd go with it.

I ordered the Hawk LVS pads. Cost me $83 after shipping (I copied the invoices for the pads and rotors earlier in this thread). Rotors are supposed to be here friday by fedex and the pads are coming by UPS so I'll get back to yall on those about this time next month.

HOHN, I know your right but it's cool to say I have slotted rotors. Funny this is is that a lot of people buy them for looks but with my centramatics on you won't even be able to see them so oh well.
