Cooling help for my '99
I have a 1999 CTD, with larger injectors, and EZ box, 4" exhaust, and a BHAF. I make enough horsepower and torque for my needs, but when pulling my fiver up mountain grades, it tends to heat up. What else can I do to improve engine cooling?
Thanks.
Thanks.

My gauge isn't exact, but pulling out of Denver going west on the interstate the gauge went way past the "high normal" mark to the point where I had to stop. Hot enough under the hood to shut down my EZ.

I had overheating issues for a couple of years while pulling my RV up hill. turned out to be dirty radiator (Outside fins) not letting air through. Had it pulled out and cleaned trying to fix an unrelated problem with my A/C not blowing cold air. Didn't fix my A/C problem, but did not overheat this year pulling the RV. Just for info the A/C problem was fixed by the "blend door" repair. Go figure, spent $800 trying to repair the A/C which I repaired for $35 myself. At least the motor doesn't run hot anymore.

FWIW I drove this same trip with my RV several years without overheating. When it started heating up 2 years ago, I checked my radiator by squirting hose water from front while running (Fan supposed to pull water through if not plugged - water got through), felt back side for oil gunk from breather tube (Dirty but not gunked), Best way to clean the rad is by removing, degreaser, pressure wash from back side (Careful of bending fins). Hope this helps
