Comp in Torx Tip Questions?

I received the PE Comp and have it installed...with the exception of the pump wire. I know that I saw posts earlier that Blue Chip has the torx tips. Has anyone been able to find the torx tip. I went to sears and they didn't have 5 star torx tips.

The performance so far is incredible ;D. Any help finding the torx tip or a part number would be great. The directions I received with the comp said that they suggest the use of the "grabber" I've seen that on other websites is it worth it? Also if anyone has used the pump cover how successful is that. When I was installing the comp I accidently pulled off a "void" sticker so should I just use the scotch connector anyway?

Thanks

Re:Comp in Torx Tip Questions?

If it is the Torx with the hole in the middle if you know anyone that works at a video game room they should be able to help you. I work with a game tech and he has many different sizes from tiny up to almost 1/4. Most of the video games use the Torx bits with the holes in the middle. Maybe this will help.

I called Autozone and they said they did not stock the tamper proof Torx. I went by there anyway and it was hanging in there tool rack.

I don't know if this is what you want, but the Tamper proof Torx is the one with the hole drilled in the center as the last gentleman mentioned.
Finding the tamper proof is not an issue. Finding a 5 STAR instead of 6 star tamper proof is the issue. I had to orde mine from Blue Chip. Cost $10.

What Blue said. I tried all over Portland, OR. Nobody had one. Even called Snap-On and MacTool distributors. No luck. Wound up ordering from Piers $7.00 plus shipping. Found out that 2001-2002 and probably anybody who has had their VP44 replaced by the dealer has these weird screws. The key is Torx Tamper Proof PLUS. The plus makes the difference. It is 5 sided instead of 6 sided. For anyone ordering the BlueChip cover from any source, ask them for a bit.

Roger

I just saw them in the Matco tool catalog [page 105 lower right hand corner]....so if Matco has them so will Snap On and Mac..as stated earlier Torx Plus tamper proof is the item your looking for....all the above tool co's have on line and 1-800 # to call and place orders..the size is another question...I have one but not here..it's a bit I'm talking about..
