Coil spring sag? CSS

Has anyone had stock coils sag? If so how much are we talking about?

Im trying to get some custom coils made by CSS and have baseline measurements, but if my stock coils are sagging then that will toss my measurments out the door.

With stock coils and NO spacer and NO isolator, Im sitting at 39" at the middle of the front fender.

With the 2" spacer and stock coils only, I'm sitting at 41.25"

Im wanting 40ish inches at the middle of the front fender. And yes, Im that picky. I dont want to blow 350 bucks on custom springs and not be happy with it.

My truck has 220K miles. Also when I get the coils springs made I have to add in the extra .25" of the new coil spring isolator.

Thanks for any help and yes this is on other forums, but I want any and all input before I pull the trigger...

What size tires are on the 2nd Gens? Also any lift on them?

Thanks for the reply!

My tires are 31.2" tall for another reference point.

285/75/16
31.5" Tall tires
1.5 spacers in front.

Also take in mind that new spring will settle 1-1.5 or so in 6 months.

44" with just 285s and 1.5" spacers? Wozwers! Also the 98 has the same setup but there is a 3" difference in height?

That makes me want to lean towards the 1" lift springs for sure!

Anybody else have some measurements they will share with me? I'd like to order these coils this week.

Dave that was just the 98 with 1.5 spacers, the 01 has been jacked, no spacers but same size tires. I have no idea what springs are in it, I did not do it.

My 99' from the ground up is 37.5" (front) 37.25 (rear) to the center of the first body indention line which is just below the molding trim running the length of the truck. These measurements are with what I believe to be a 6" lift. I think what you're looking for is a leveling spring. Carli, Kore, Thuren, etc. JMO

Na, I dont want a full 2+ inches of lift. I have that already with my 2" spacer.

I went from a 34" tire down to a 31.2" tire so I have more fenderwell clearance than I had before. Therefore Im trying to lower the entire truck about 1" in the front and a little over 1" in the rear.

I took my front 2" spacer out last friday and this is what it looked like..

It measures just a hair under 38" in the CENTER of the fenderwell with the tape measure aligned with the axle.

This is what it looks like with the 2" spacer. 41.25 in the front and 42.75 in the back.

If any one has a stock height 2nd gen post up your heights measured from the center of the fenderwell please!!!

No worries, it was just for a ref point. If you're lowering more than factory just watch the axle geometery as the lower you go, the axle will move forward unless you mod the control arms.

From my experience with CSS - I've had their coils for years now - they only settled about 1/2" max, not more. I was pleased with that.

I told them that I wanted 2.5" over stock - gave them the part #'s off the coil springs themselves and that I wanted a significantly softer spring rate. That's all they needed.

Cowhand helped me out years ago - he's a great wealth of info. I was VERY impressed with the ride improvement AND travel the solution gave me. With new Bilstein 5100's and the CSS coils, I could hit holes and dips without slowing down. It was awesome! They still look good today and my truck still sits just as level as I wanted it to 6 years ago.

BTW, that's a sharp de-badged truck!!
