Code 1693 when Van aaken installed

Well I bought a Van Aaken R box from a guy in the paper. It looks like it is in good shape with electronics you never know. I installed it like the manufacture says and as soon as I went to take it for a test drive my check engine light came on and when I tried to accelerate it didn't respond. I uninstalled it and started the truck back up and the check engine light came on again. I checked the codes and it gave me 1693. Does anybody know whats going on here? Any help is appreciated.

If you have never gotten the answere to this that you wanted I believe according to my SMARTY it is perfectly normal with the addition of a fueling box. My Dr. P makes it throw that same code.

Shouldn't the van aaken box give it more throttle response instead of less? I've never had a box on any of my diesels but I thought it would run a hell of alot better than it did. I have more throttle response without it then I do with it.

Had the same problem on the first install (I don't remember the code though). The connection to the IAT sensor was not complete. Make sure the connector "clicks" otherwise there will be the problem you describe.

The 1693 code is a companion code, it usually pops up with another code. Are you sure you got all the codes? When you do the 3 turn trick with the key it will show the PCM codes then say done, then it will show the ECM codes then say done then go back to your odometer. I would double check your codes for anything else then recheck all your connections. When you put a fueling box on it should make it more responsive not less responsive.

Well I finally got it to work after installing and removing 4 times until it finally acted like its supposed to. I think the connection to the map sensor wasn't connecting all the way. I love the added power but I think I need more. How can I get this thing to smoke? Whats another cheap mod I can do for some more HP? I only paid $100 for the van aaken so I'm doing good so far.
