Code 1691
I am running one of the 2000 tunes with my Adrenaline. Setting on 2. Started the truck up and the high idle comes on after the time delay and comes up to 900 rpm or so. It stayed at 900 rpm or so for some time and then began ramping up to 1200 rpm. As it reached 1200 rpm it all of a sudden died. I turned the keyswitch off for a minute and brought the truck back online without a problem and havn't had an issue since. I had logged a 1691 code (fuel system ESS RPM error). I am assuming this may have been logged at that time. Is this code for an engine speed sensor? I am not sure if the issue could be related to the Adrenaline or if I have a sensor issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Kind of wierd, but here is my story from TDR:
This same thing happened a couple of times since. Before that I had done many flawless downloads, and even a couple mixed in with the bad ones since it first happened.
I talked with Bob W. and he or Marco had no clue. I am running a XZT+, but it is turned off. Currently I am using it only for the high idle feature. That and your story got me to thinking.

Well.... Something really weird is now happeing to me when I try to load / re-load a new SW.
It started today, and I swore to myself I was only going to mess with the ABS, after I was re-loading SW3 only for some option changes. The truck starts OK, but the RPM's immediately jump to 1200 for a few seconds then the truck dies. I check for codes. I about tripped off-line when I got a p1691 and my truck will not re-start.

I re-loaded SW3 ---> same deal
I loaded stock SW ---> same deal
After about 17 hail Mary's (or something close) and trying different things, the truck still will not start. It cranks, but no ignition.
I got to thinking this seemed allot like the behavior when the truck goes into the door lock anti-theft mode. So I get out, using my key, lock the doors and then un-lock the doors. I get back in, and the engine fires right up as nothing was abnormal.
This has happened exactly like this for the two SW downloads I have done since I first solved the problem. Each time it throws a p1691, the truck starts the first time revs to 1200 RPM then dies and it will not re-start until I do the key in the door lock thing. The code I can clear and it does not come back until I do another download.
Anything like this happen to anyone else? Perhaps Bob W. can chime in?
