Love my Valair clutch, holds firm, little bit grabby with 315's 3.55 gears and second gear starts.. the stock clutch wasn't too smooth either.

It depends. With twins, I've seen some FEs hold. I've also seen some glaze in a blink, barely holding the first 3 gears.

If you have an HO, then you should be within the FEs holding range, twins or not-- unless you've swapped the VP for something hotter.

I put a Valair Full Feramic 13.25 0n my 2002 last month. It's got about 700 miles on it now. Its grabby for shure, but holds on for dear life! It's really only grabby on 2nd gear launches though. If you get the RPM up a couple hundred revs before letting the clutch out it'll pull away cleanly in second.

It held last night on my way home from work. I raced a F150 Harley Davidson edition with the lightning motor. (one of my co workers) From 35mph till we started backin off at about 70 we were dead even. I was in 4th the whole time

The good thing about buying a SB is that you get customer service for life.

At the end of the sled pulling season my 3850 12cb is getting upgraded to a 4200 iron giant and I know Peter will hook me up like he has done in the past.

I talked with Kevin at Valair yesterday, and my OFE 13" upgrade will be on it's way shortly. For what I use the truck for, and the amount it gets driven, it will be perfectly suited to it.

trbdsl96, you were dead even with just an EZ and jammer 3's? That's great, I always thought those ford lightnings were fast...

Big Blue- It shocked me a little at first too. It was a rolling start though, I already had some boost on tap. He was buggin me so I punched it. He thought I wouldn't even try it Just the mods in blue in my sig and the EZ on level 3.

The 2003 Lightning/Harley Davidson had about 340hp stock, his is no longer stock though. I know he at least has a chip in it. I should be around 400 myself but I have waaay more torque as we all know.

Lightnings can pull pretty hard, but when they start going to undersized blower pulleys they tend to start puking trannies

I wish my truck pulled hard enough to take a Lightning. Maybe from a 50mph roll if I already had boost on tap.

I went to the local 1/8 mile track before I put in the 370s and still had the 35/40 hybrid and got stomped by a 4 door lighting with 4 people riding in it. I ran a 10.03 and he ran a 9.2 I think. It was in the low 9s.

It might have been the harley version. The guy in it was showing off doing massive burnouts and holding their hands out the sunroof.

I also got beat by a 7.3 PowerStroke with a Bully Dog box set on 6. How much power is that in around a 2000 year model ford.
