Clutch Choices
Well I put on a Van Aken box and now the clutch can`t hold the truck and trailer on some hills or passing in 6th gear. Soooooooo whats a good set-up for a daily driver and some towing8--9,000lbs.?
The truck only has 50,000 miles but the previous owner must have slipped the snot out of it. My old truck had 280,000mi.s on it with the original clutch and still held fine.

I had the same set-up as you plus some RV275 injectors.
With The Van Aaken and injectors I could slip the stock
clutch in 5th and 6th gear when accelerating onto the
freeway. This was with a stock clutch with only 68,000 miles.
I had a Southbend OFE installed last week and towed my 7000#
trailer to the coast with no slippage or "grabbyness" problems.
Only problem is it is kinda pricey.

Valair is gaining quite a following... I am leaning heavily twards one of their clutches when the time comes for mine (spring). But like was stated Southbend, and then LUK are the two favorites around here. With SB the clear leader. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Peter's customer service.

I put a SB Con OFE in not too long ago. I got the bigger clutch because I tow heavy pretty often. It's not too grabby, but backing a trailer will try your patiance. I started doing it in low range.
