Clutch break in time??

How many miles should be on a clutch before it's "seated in", I have a luk clutch and was told it needs 2000-3000 miles before its "seated in". I only have about 400miles on it now, and so far, not happy, If I get on it any more than half throttle in 4th or 5th gear, it shudders/slips, so i've been taking it easy on it untill i get 2 or 3 thousand miles on it. Is this ever going to go away or do i need a heavier clutch?? Or will it hold once its seated in?? Thanks Chris

My roommates southbend needed 500 miles of break in. At 501 miles he got on it and it slipped a little and then held and hasn't slipped since then.

One good tank of around town stop and go, or like Blue stated some miles on the highway. I feel the stop and go around town does the best as per Southbend recommends. My con ofe took two tanks of around town and a couple of hundred miles to hold good. Goodluck,,Rick
