Clearance Lights
Ok I have decided to add clearance lights to my truck. My father in-law told me that the inside of the cab has already got a pattern to follow. Is this true? And where is the best place to buy the lights that actually look like Dodge lights? My last question, is there an easy way to wire the lights into my factor light switch? Any help will greatly be appreciated.

the pattern is already there unner the headliner. i've bought my lights from autozone for $20 but they are slimmer than factory lights. they look like the colored cab lights if you have ever seen them. i agree though factory lights look best , but alot more expensive

I've installed three sets.
You don't have to pull the headliner and even if your a fatbutt like me, you can drop the headliner enough to make the wire connections without even pulling the dome light.
So Just use the template supplied with the Mopar kit and drill from the outside.

Im pretty sure you can buy the factory looking cab lights from JCwhitney for almost half of what the dealer wants for them...now this is what Ive heard from a friend that did his, so it might be worth checking into.
I did them on my truck over x-mas and yes there is a pattern of holes for the factory lights. I pulled some factory ones off a wrecked 3500 for $10, harness and all...but I didnt mount them like the factory ones. Mine are evenly spaced as opposed to the 3 in the middle and 2 on the outside, I like how it looks better.

What would prevent a guy from putting the clear lights that are made for the Ford SD's on his Dodge? Besides the fact that you are putting Ford lights on an obviously superior truck?

you can put any kind of lights you want on there. i bought a set from jcwhitney, i forgot the actual price, around 40$ or so with shipping.i wired them to the left front parking lamp, it was easier than finding the right wire under the dash since i didn't have a factory harness. and yes they are marked under the headliner.drilling the first hole is the worst part. good luck

Thanks for all the replies And as far as putting Ford lights on my DODGE The only time my truck is going to touch a ford is when I'm pulling one out of the mud or to a mechanic.

I just installed the lights from JC Whitney. They came out looking good. There are holes in the roof subframe locating the the lights for you. As for removing the headliner. I tried it just pulling the front of it down and got frustrated and finally removed it completely. It was easy to remove and replace. The hardest part was getting up the nerve to pull the trigger on the drill. Here is a link to the part from JC Whitney. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...atalogId-10101
