Clear Coated Wheels

I'm done with my mickey thompsons. After religiously cleaning them once a week and spending hours wet sanding, polishing, and waxing, they still stain and spot. I'm thoroughly ticked off. So what after market wheels are clear coated? I'm getting new wheels before summer is over. I might do a combo powdercoat black/chrome rim. I want 16x10" with 4.5" back spacing. Thanks for the help yall.

I scored a set of Eagle Alloy 058's for $88 apiece, 16x10, but that's with my discount at the tire shop (used to work there). They are identicle to the 589's, but the holes have gray paint instead of polishing. My buddy has a set of 589s and he never washes his truck, the wheels are still bright and shiny. Call up your local tire shop and tell them that Eagle Alloys has a deal on 058s until May 31, dealer cost is $77 apiece, and see what they say.

Why not powder coat your Mickey Thompsons? You can do that cheeper than you can buy new wheels usually. Or you could have them chromed.

Yes, yes they do make clear powder coat. I used some of that powder coat tonight on an LT1 manifold that was bead blasted. Just make sure they're completely clean. It cost me $8 for the powdercoat material, $31 for the electric pigtail to run the oven in the shop. We got the oven for free since it was set out for the trash. Just make SURE that the wheels are perfectly haze and scratch free. They must also be COMPLETELY free of any oil, grease, dust and should be bare metal. Did I mention the wheels need to be completely stripped?

clear coated wheels suck if you play alot in the sand cause the sand eats the clear coat off then you are back to square one polishing them all the time . i know this cause i have them and played in the sand alot with them. they are the 589s that crimedog was talking about . im just about to have mine powder coated black cause im sick of polishing them
