CHR Transmission
The label under the hood that has the statistics on my 1996 truck says that the tranny is a 4 speed automatic CHR. Does anyone know wht the CHR is? I dont see 47re anywhere under there. The label on my 1995 says it has a 4 speed automatic 47rh. This CHR thing has me confused,,,I am hoping some one could shed some light on this. Thanks

So did the 96's come out with the 47re? I cant find anything on the truck that identifies the transmission.

Yes the 96 Automatic is a 47RE

Sales or order code DGP identifies it as the 47RE which started in 96 models and continued until supeceded by the 48RE
