Ive been driving awhile with a comp on 5x5 and no EGT gauge. See my sig. I sent it in for repair/replacement in january and Email/call every couple weeks no luck.

I dont worry about it. Then again if i drive aggressively it stops once i hit the speed limit and doesnt occur for a couple more minutes, so plenty time to drop temps before the next 'romp'.

No towing, but wouldnt think twice about towing without one either (no hills here!)

Um...so now I have to get a pyro gauge too. Next pay check down the tubes!

Of course, I could take the chip off for the trip, but that would just be silly.

I hate to say this

But here in laredo, and probably everywhere else, people do it all the time, I hear the question of "hey does your truck have a chip?" alot, No it dont have a chip, but it does have a pyro, I know of at least 10 chipped diesels down here in LDO and none of them have a pyro, I also know of a few others that have some mods and a pyro, so its just a matter of whose ignorant as to what EGTs are, and whose not.... Sadly tho, the consequences can be dire for those who are ignorant. But its an expensive lesson learned..
