chip or nozzles?

What would you all reccomend as the first mod after guages, something like an edge EZ or a new set of nozzles?

How do nozzles effect egt's? at all? what about their effect on fuel mileage?

EZ first then do the injectors.
But probably a set of gauges also.

Don't you need a boost fooler to run bigger injectors?Because I have asked the same question about my H.O. and most guys have said to get the comp before the injectors. What is the best way to go?

I was thinking of going with injectors first because it was a HO.But alot of people said to go with the comp first, and then add injectors.I am still undecided.

Truck is a 2000, auto tranny, straight pipes on it right now. Ordering my gauges hopefully within a week or so, just thinknig ahead. You've gotta forgive my newbiness in the turbo diesel world, what are you guys reffering to by boost fooler?

It is incorporated in the edge ez and comp. You can also get a stand alon boost fooler for pretty cheap. If you don't run one it will set a over boost code. All it does is fool the ecm into thinking it is only making about 18lbs. of boost when it is really making more.I think it will also fuel earlier because it will think it is getting 18lbs,(roughly)when it really doesn't have that much built up yet. So,the fuel will come in earler than it would before. Some one correct me if i'm wrong.I think it's close at least!

So I'd be safe to put nozzles and a simple boost fooler on my truck? or do I really need to do that edge EZ first?

I wish someone would have told me to get the Comp instead of the EZ when I first started. The Comp does everything the EZ will, and a LOT that it never can for not much more money.

If nothing else, buy the comp because it's an EZ that you can adjust on the fly. You WILL want to adjust it, and it's a pain to have the box underhood.

You don't have to tap the wire.

If you do, I highly suggest a Posi-Tap from www.Posi-Tap.com as the best way to tap the wire. Tapping it will void your warranty.

Oh-- and while injectors are my favorite mod, I think a box should come first. Adjustability of a wire-tap box really makes the most of the injectors.
