Chevy wheel cylinder = ABS light?
Maybe my truck is ****** it has a chevy part on it, but I just finished the 1ton wheel cylinder upgrade a little while ago and now my brake light and abs light are on. Brakes stop MUCH better, parking brake works, abs does not work, brakes are bled properly, fluid is full.
So what gives? Will unplugging the battery do anything?
Thanks,
Shawn

I don't know what might have happened during the upgrade to turn on the light, but if you don't have the means to read the trouble code, and the base brakes feel fine, I would disconnect the batteries, or unhook the ABS controller for a while to see if the code will clear. If the code comes right back, then it's time to get it read.
Do you have 4 wheel ABS, or just rear?

upgrading to larger wheel cyl will not cause the CEL, I did mine a while back no code issues, if its 4wheel abs check all the wires to the speed sensors, a broken wire will trip an ABS lite

Sorry about the confusion, I meant the batteries. I never did it last night because it was too late and too cold to screw around with it anymore. One thing I may have forgot to mention is that "brake" light is on too for the parking brake, not just the ABS light.

Well, unplugging the batteries for a few minutes worked for now. About to go on a 400 mile trip so we'll see how she weathers. I'll post up how it goes when I get back.
Thanks guys,
Shawn

Mine is doing the same thing. Disconnecting the batteries doesn't do anyting. I adjusted my rear cylinders and it seems it has fixed the problem. I couldn't figure out what happened either. I have good pads, but the e brake would go to the floor. After I adjusted the rears, the brakes are better, and the e brake is stiffer.
You might have to run out your cylinder screw thingy with a screw driver until it doesn't screw anymore. It's got me stumped too

Well the battery trick worked. The brakes had already been adjusted properly (i adjusted the star wheel before I even lowered the truck back to the ground).
