Talking Check out these turbos

I was wondering which of these turbos would work as a good single on our trucks and what mods might take place in hooking it up?

Captain:

You have listed ALOT of different turbos in your post!!
I am not familiar with all of them, but I have run the
Holset (Piers Modified) HX-40/16, a Scheid Modified
HX-50/55/18 and the B-1 Turbos.

IMO, on my 96' 12 valve, the Scheid Modified HX-50/55
ran the best, with the Piers HX-40/16 running right
behind it! IMO, these two turbos have good low-end
response with very minimal lag, good midrange and also
pull well on the top end! FYI, I saw an increase of 27
RWHP after going from my "stock" HX-35/12 to the
Piers HX-40/16. I also tried the HX-40 with an 18cm
exhaust housing and IMO it had to much "low end"
lag. There are also a few companies building the
Schwitzer S-300 model Turbos to go on our Dodge
Trucks, but I have no experience with them. I do
know that the Schwitzer Turbos have a very good
reputation for being pretty tough!

As you get into the larger Holset Turbos (H2E, HT3B,
HX-60) it is my understanding that you have to have
an "adapter" so the turbo will mount onto your
manifold. In talking with Dodge CTD owners who
have tried the larger models, they told me that
the low-end "lag" was pretty bad.

Hope this has helped you some!
