I've installed Holley blue pumps on 3 Dodge trucks & never saw pressures higher than 14psi. It was the only pump used, no stocker. My brother gets 12psi, 10wot. The blue is what Bullydog sells in their Big Fuel Kit.

JLent, he has the in-tank converstion also.
You may be right on that, it may just bypass the extra, I've heard it both ways but I don't know which is true.
I thought, or atleast the way I understood it was that you can have 25 - 30 psi but the VP44 will only take a certain amount of pressure and no more, but that it wasn't hurting the VP44 with extra psi. Is that incorrect?

And 45psi at idle with 42 psi at cruise.

I have heard of 'em running even more. I do not know what the long term effects are. That's why I opted to not run the regulator I have sitting on my desk.

i am in the same situation he is in, i need a better fuel system that isnt very much in cost. i like the idea of the vulcan kit, i may buy it and try it out.

What vulcan kit? The relocation kit for a carter pump or holley? Carter couldn't make enough pressure or volume for me. Buyer beware. They have a Fass pump, but I didn't see a "kit" . Post a link to the kit you are referring to.

it has all the lines and fittings to add a pusher pump. the only thing it doesnt have is the walbro 392 or the holley blue. so yeah its the same thing your talking about...i think.

I'd make my own. ( Hey..wait..I DID! ) Their wiring harness doesn't have a relay in it, and most of the aftermarket pumps will draw a little more amperage than the stock ones. I can't say about the holley, but it appears to be very similar to the carter - just won't cut it. ( at least for me ) I bought the Walbro pump and regulator from Rich at GDP, for around $230. I got all of the other fittings from NAPA. Well........after I tried BD's carter kit. They were nice enough to let me keep the wiring ( which I added a relay to ) , and the fuel pump adapter plate for the canister. ( third gen thing ) If money is your biggest motivator, go for the Airtex pump from O'reilly's. Its only like $150, and bolts right on in the factory location. I wish I could get some pressure readings off of one though.

I have a airtex mounted on the frame by the tank with vulcan relocation kit. I get about 18 psi idleing, 15 psi wot. Only had it on for a couple of weeks, but so far very happy with it.

So if one were to relocate a block mounted carter LP to the frame by the fuel tank, and eliminate the banjo fittings, would he see a noticeable increase in fuel pressure???

I had the carter P4601HP ( high pressure ) and couldn't get over 10 psi. So I would have to say no. The block mounted carter pumps had even less pressure rating.

Moving the pump only helps tghe pump live longer. This is because it's not pulling fuel as far. Especially since most of the electrics are designed to push fuel.
This is why I always recommend the Draw Straw. It keeps the inlet flooded at a lower vacuum threshold. It does not ix pressure issues, unlesss they are caused by inlet restrictions.

I'm gonna tell ya......after 2 P4601HP's.....nothing over 10 psi ! Get the Airtex, or spring for the Walbro. The Holley's and the Carter's just don't have it!
