Pinched the hose but didn't notice any boost differences just driving around tonight. Are the higher boost #s noticed in towing or WOT? Any ideas?
Maybe because I used Vice-grip not Matco tools.

Because you don't have a boost fooling box. The computer is not giving you enough fuel to build more boost. It is set to not let you get over a certian level. Fuel=Boost...

i have a 99 dodge 24v and i was looking for a cheap and easy way to raise my stock boost pressure
i have a quad box and intake....but i want more boost pressure i have heard about ppl clamping the wategate...
How much boost are you currently seeing with your setup being the fact you have a Quad Box and intake?
Then I will tell you IF your seeing at or around 40psi on a HX35 or a HY35 you do not want anymore with that charger.Once you cross the 40lb threshold all you do is create heated air which is not what you want..........Andy

Boost fooling or a boost fooler does not raise your boost, it only fools the computer into thinking there's less than 21psi (i think) of boost so the computer doesn't de-fuel the engine. If you want more boost, you need more fuel or a wastegate modification.

Ahhh, never mind. I see you have a Superchips now. Anyway, the XZT+ does do boost fooling. Here's a boost fooler for your 99. http://www.dieselperformance.com/ind...oduct/index/8P

From the begining they had boost fooling. With my almost stock truck with XZT+ and a boost elbow i can get 35psi of boost if i adjust it all the way in.
The hx 35 loses efficency at 35psi so you dont want to go over that.

Screw the screw in all the way for maximum boost. What this does is limit the amount of pressurized air that can travel down the silicone hose to the wastegate head. When the wastegate head gets 20 psi or so, it pushes out the rod that is directly connected to a metal coin shaped puck. When this puck opens, exhaust is allowed to bypass the turbine and thus the turbine slows a bit.
Slower turbine = slower compressor. Slower compressor limits boost pressure.
When a guy puts vice grips on the silicone hose, they allow zero pressure to the wastegate head, and thus the rod doesn't move, the puck stays shut, and all exhaust pressure is pushed through the turbine wheel. As turbine spins faster, so does the compressor wheel. All of this equates to more boost.

the easiest way is to take off the fitting and drill an tap it and install a set screw, i did mine in an hour, and w/ my box and injectors im right at 35 and it some times peaks to 40 but i try to keep it at 35
